Caldarium Sacrum

This is the reprogramming of Westminster Abbey Chapter House into a public bath, which is a core element of the Greek gymnasium. The space was modified replacing the central column with a bath. The chapter house was increased in height making the central bath a brightly illuminated space. A new surrounding viewing space would also be created in darkness as if it were a Palaestra.
